Now we all wish it would get a bit cooler, but let’s face it, the sun ain’t going anywhere, so we might as well embrace this weather in style. Im a big fan of  layering, for the simple reason that there are so many different ways of doing it. It’s really a trend that allows you to get creative and sometimes, even a little crazy.

During these transitional months it’s all about layers and using those layers with some of your summer pieces to create really cute and weather appropriate outfits. I happen to love getting dressed this time of year because some the simplest of additions, like a scarf or a shrug can make my summer basics feel fresh again. Your could keep is simple with the basic solid colours and neutral tones, or take it to the next level with miss-matched prints, varied lengths, etc. It really helps if you have a few layering essentials in your wardrobe at all times, if not, i suggest you invest in some of these soon. Light capes or kimonos, scarves, stoles, long shirts, all make for really cool and comfy layers that don’t leave you feeling all sweaty and uncomfortable.

Here’s how I used my simple black shrug to layer up my look..

A long shrug with a short summer dress is a hot trend and I decided to style it my way. I picked this printed skater dress and paired it with a black crochet shrug. I absolutely loved the crochet detailing on this shrug. It makes it that perfect transitional piece..The combination of the colours is what did the thing for me. The skater dress is really light and lets your skin breathe and the shrug just adds more fun to the attire. A coffee date, a sunday brunch or a pool party, you are ready to rock it chica.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and do let me know how you’ll plan to layer up during this transition period. Happy Monday ! XoXo
